A GUEST LECTURE ON SWINE FLU IN BVIMR Social Club group of Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management and Research, New Delhi had organized a guest lecture on swine flu on 20th August, 2009 to spread the awareness among its students regarding the lethal swine flu. Dr. Vijay Kansal had come to enrich the students with the knowledge about this alarmingly spreading disease so that we can take necessary precautions as it is said “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”.Dr. Kansal is an M.B.B.S. from Aligarh Muslim University, Founder President of Kalyanam Handicap Welfare Society (a society working for physically challenged). He was the Ex. President of Aligarh Medicos Association, Delhi. He is also the H.S.O., Civic Defense and Directorate General of Home Guard. As informed by Dr. Kansal, swine flu also known as H1N1 is “an infection by any one of several types of swine influenza virus”. He discussed some common practices which assists the spread of this deadly flu. Dr. Kansal was very specific about the symptoms and signs of swine flu such as pain in the chest, catching of cold and fever too. Some of the precautions suggested by him were to avoid crowded places, not to share our personal things and to keep washing our hands frequently. Dr. Kansal also suggested that we must take balanced diet and should take up some kind of regular exercise to strengthen our immune system, which in turn helps to fight against any virus attack. Last but not the least, we thanked Dr. Vijay Kansal to enrich us with the detailed information about swine flu - its symptoms, prevention and cure. |
